Tibet, used to be the mysterious, legendary and unknown Roof of the World, hidden and almost unreachable behind the highest mountains in the world can be easily reached today from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province to Lhasa. This is the safest way for visitors to travel to Tibet.

Day 1 :

Arrival in Chengdu

Upon arrival in Chengdu, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel for a short rest. We will start our Tibet tour adventures from here. dinner is your own and stay overnight at Chengdu.

Day 02 :

Chengdu ( Breakfast )

After breakfast, you will visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, followed by a trip to the Wenshu Temple where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house enjoying a cup of traditional Chinese tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu and Jinli Old Street.Pm: You will be escorted to the Chengdu railway station and take the train to the hidden land of Tibet. Your lifetime trip starts here! (45 hours 40 minutes; distance: 3360km)

Tips of today: 1. You’d better get to railway station about 45 minutes ahead of departure time. Ticket Check-in starts 30 minutes before your aboard; 2. Prepare some foods.

Day 03 :

Travel on Train

Today, you’ll travel on the world’s highest altitude railway: Qinghai-Tibet railway. While traveling to Tibet by train takes much longer than by plane, you will be witness to thousands of miles of the most stunning landscapes in the world, rolling by outside your window.

Tips of today: 1. There are battery charging accesses on the train, but make sure you have a socket adapter; 2. Only Chinese foods are served aboard, including Breakfast(10RMB), Box Lunch(25RMB), Self-selected Meal(from 38MRB).

Day 04 :

Lhasa Arrival

A full day window sightseeing along Qinghai-Tibet Railway, you will see land of snows, desert, immense grassland, snow capped –mountain, beautiful lakes etc.After arrival in Lhasa in the afternoon at about 16:50, your local tour guide will be waiting for you and escort you to your hotel in Lhasa. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the local area and acclimatize yourself to the high altitude and weather of Lhasa

Tips of today: 1. Go for some walking to acclimate the high altitude but avoid strenuous activity after arrival; 2. You’d better not have bath; 3. Drink more water, and have some fruit; 4. Have a good rest.

Day 05 :

Lhasa (Breakfast)

The overwhelming Potala Palace is your first stupa this morning. As the symbol of Tibet, it was built in 641 AD and was the winter palace of Dalai Lama who is Tibet’s pope. Impressive Tibetan architecture, huge golden Buddha statues, red-robed lamas and devoted pilgrims all make it a must-visit.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet. Every day, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek here from long distances to worship. Finally, walk the special circular pilgrimage route as local followers always do at Barkhor Street.

Day 06 :

Lhasa/Namtso Lake (Breakfast) (220km,4 hours driving, asphalt road in good condition)

In the morning around 08:00am, our guide and driver pick you up from your hotel, and then leave Lhasa to Namtso Lake. Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain ranges appear in front of you all the way. In summer (May to August), the sheepherders and their family move to grassland and set up their tents, you could see green grassland, groups of sheep and yaks, nomad tents by the road. Namtso Lake is the Heavenly lake which is one of the three holy lakes of Tibet and also the highest salt lake. You can do a very relaxing trekking around the lake side and Tashi Island. Spending a night at lake shore is fantastic. The night sky is so clean that you could see all the stars twinkling on the sky, which are so close to you as if you could stretch your hands to pick them. Namtso lake is actually the lake in the sky, and it is about 5000m high lies on the highest plateau in the world.

Day 07 :

Namtso,Dazhuka,Shigatse (385km, 8-9hours driving) (Breakfast)

Enjoy the clear morning at the lake shore, and you can trek along the lake shore to Tashi Dor Island to explore the meditation caves. After that, continue to Shigatse, the second biggest city in Tibet, you will go through a long distance of rough road between Yanpanchen and Dazhuka, and finally get to Shigatse in the late afternoon.

Day 08 :

Shigatse to Gyantse (3,950m/12,955)-90kms(Breakfast)

Today we visit the Tashilunpo Monastery and the open market of Xigaste in the morning time. After getting lunch we start our short drive to Gyantse where you visit the Khumbum Stupa and Phalkot Monastery and overnight. Overnight at hotel

Day 09 :

Gyantse to Lhasa (3,650m/11,970)-259kms(Breakfast)

Today we reach Lhasa after long drive approx 8 hours on the way crossing the Karo La (5010m/16432ft) and Kamba La (4794m/15724ft) pass and Lake YamdrokTso. You will cross the YarlungTsangpo (Brahamaputra) river and see the distant views of the Potala Palace. Overnight at hotel

Day 10 :

Lhasa -Fly to Cheng Du (Breakfast)

Today free at leisure until your guide transferred you to the airport. Upon arrival in Cheng du, connecting flight home
