Itinerary
Assemble in Changi Airport Terminal 3 for flight to Kolkata, India. Meet & greet by the local representative and Check into hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your domestic flight to Bagdogra. Our tour guide will meet and welcome you at the airport and then transfer you on a journey drive through picturesque tea gardens to the world renowned Gangtok. After dinner, overnight stay at Hotel.
After breakfast, we will visit the Institute of Handloom & handicraft Center. Here you will be able to see many trainees undergoing training in various artwork while many artist and craftsmen are making the handicraft products. there is also a museum located on the first floor where you can see several antique and rare collections which were created by legendary craftsmen and artists. Next, we will visit the Tashi View Point, which is a perfect place to witness the brilliant surroundings like mountains, valleys and Gangtok itself offering some of the best sunrise and sunset views. One can witness the changing of colours of the Kanchenjunga and Siniolchu Peaks as the sun slowly moves from this view point along with the glimpse of famous monasteries of Gangtok, Phodong and Labrang. Next, we will visit Ganesh Tok, which is a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple is situated such that one can get a bird's eye view of the entire city and of Mt Khangchendzonga and Mt Siniolchu in the distance. The temple is a miniscule structure that is complemented by a huge viewing deck. Next we will visit the Banjhakri falls where shamanist statues are in its art form. we will also visit the Lingdum Monastery, also known as Ranka Monastery and Pal Zurmang Kagyud Monastery, which is located in Ranka, about 20 kilometres from Gangtok. Lingdum Monastery is surrounded by greenery, is regarded as one of East Sikkim’s most beautiful monasteries. Next, we will visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology which is a Tibet museum in Gangtok, Sikkim, India, named after the 11th Chogyal of Sikkim. The Rumtek Monastery or Gompa is one of Sikkim’s largest Tibetan monasteries in Sikkim. Dedicated to the Kagyu sect of Buddhists, which originated in the 12th century in Tibet. Rumtek Monastery is a must-visit place near Gangtok (20 km). It was created in the image of the original monastery in Tsurphu, Tibet, and displays magnificent architecture. The best part is that accommodation facilities are provided here for travelers to stay in solace. After dinner, will be free and easy.
Tsomgo Lake has a different charm as the lake is situated at 12,400 feet where as Gangtok is at 5,500 feet. Change of vegetation altitudinal varieties is a must to observe. Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake, is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim, some 40 kilometres (25 miles) from the capital Gangtok. the lake remains frozen during the winter season. The lake surface reflects different colours with change of seasons and is held in great reverence by the local Sikkimese people. Buddhist monks prognosticated after studying the changing colours of the lake. After the winter season ends in middle of May, the periphery of lake has scenic blooms of flower species of rhododendrons (the state tree of Sikkim), primulas, blue and yellow poppies, irises and so forth. Also seen in the precincts of the lake are several species of birds including Brahminy ducks. Wildlife seen here includes the red panda. We will return to Gangtok for overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive from Gongtok to Lachen (128 kma, 6 hours drive.) Lachen : 8,838 feet. En route we will visit Seven Sister falls and stop over at Singhik Kanchendzong View Point. Lachen is a tribal village in one of the remotest place of Sikkim. Snow clad peaks overlook the village. Lachen’s most shining gem of all. Lachen experiences heavy snow fall during winter and it is the gateway to Gurudogmar Lake (17,800 feet). The lake has an area of 118 hectares (290 acres) and its peripheral length is 5.34 kilometres (3.32 mi). Overnight in Lachen.
After breakfast, we will drive to Thamgu (about 19 kms, 3 kms off the road to visit Copt Valley. Lachen’s most shining gem of all, Chopta Valley lies sprawled at an altitude of 4023 m on the way to Gurudongmar Lake. Despite of being a tourist hotspot, Chopta valley is able to maintain itself as a pristine and tranquil destination. Tranquil and scenic is what Thangu Valley is all about. Due to its high altitude located of around 3,962 m, it is covered in the blanket of snow almost all the time. The valley comprises alpine meadows that are flanked by shimmering water of River Teesta and wooden houses, offering a picturesque sight to witness. Apart from Teesta River, three more rivers, Chopta, Thangu and Lassur also flow through this valley. There is also a small village of the same name in the valley, which is used as a halt by tourists heading to the beautiful and popular attraction of Sikkim, Gurudongmar Lake. After that, we will return to Lachen. After lunch, we will drive for 2 hours to Lachung (54 kms). Overnight stay at Lachung.
The Yumthang Valley is a nature sanctuary with river, hot springs, yaks and grazing pasture on rolling meadows surrounded by the Himalayan mountains in the North Sikkim district of Sikkim state in India. It is at an elevation of 3,564 metres (11,693 ft). It is popularly known as 'Valley of Flowers' and is home to the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, which has over twenty-four species of the rhododendron, the state flower. The flowering season is from late February and to mid June, when countless flowers bloom to carpet the valley in multicolored hues of rainbow. From there, we will drive up to Sikkim’s untouched beauty; Yumesamdong, is a valley on the Lachung River about 15 km ahead of Yumthang. It is situated at 4,724 m altitude in the North East of the State, popularly known as the Zero point which means the hindmost frontier of civilization. There are no roads further, just the landscapes completely covered with snow offering a majestic view contrasting with the patchy blue sky in between the fresh icy breeze. The place is adjacent to Chinese border. Yumesamdong is optional tour, payment has to be done to the driver directly which comes to Rs. 3000/per car. Later, we will return to Lachung.
After breakfast, from Lachung, we will drive back to Gangtok (126 kms, 6 hours) via Chungthang. Check into hotel by late afternoon. Free and easy. Overnight at Gangtok.
After breakfast, drive to Darjeeling. Lunch will be served at restaurant. Post Lunch City Tour - visit 7 points (Timing: 1.30 PM to 5.00 PM) - Darjeeling Zoo and Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Tea Garden, Tenzing Rock and Gombu Rock. Tibetan Refugee center (Closed on Sunday) and Lebong Race Course Area. Free evening at Mall for shopping. Overnight at Darjeeling.
Early morning visit Tiger Hill Sunrise Point, Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery (Timing 4.00 AM to 7.30 AM). Return to Hotel for breakfast. Free time for personal activities between breakfast and lunch. After lunch, drive to IXB Bagdogra Airport and fly to Kolkata - connecting flight to Singapore.
