Ghandruk Trek is one of the most popular and scenic treks in the Annapurna region.  Ghandruk offers very close view of Annapurnas and the view during sunset and sunrise is fantastic. This short and easy walk takes you through pristine forests, terraced fields, and beautiful villages inhabited by mid-hill tribes – Gurungs, many of them are Gurkhas soldiers serving for British and Singapore armed forces. You will have an opportunity to experience the local culture and learn the tradition of the Gurung communities. Ghandruk is a beautiful village with a number of slate-roofed houses, paved courtyard, a museum, Buddhist monastery. The breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchre and Hiunchuli will follow you throughout the journey. The highest point is 2,000m. All of these make this trek an ideal choice for everyone looking for short trek in Annapurna foothills.

Itinerary

DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU (1300m) (Dinner)

We welcome you to Land of Himalaya. Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, our local Tour leader welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, we will start our Nepal Trekking adventure by visiting world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. First, we will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square which is old royal palace of Kathmandu and can be seen lot of temple, architectures and Kumari (living goddess).Next, we will visit Swayambhunath Stupa , said to be 2500 years old located on a hillock, (Highest point of Kathmandu valley) which offers a breath-taking view of Kathmandu City and you will also be able to see the beautiful sunset. Drive back to the hotel. Dinner will be served at one of the restaurant nearby. After dinner, briefing about your following trip. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

DAY 02: KATHMANDU TO POKHARA (823m), 5-6hrs drive (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel restaurant, 07:30hrs our local tour leader, other trek staff and driver will pick you up from hotel and drive (approximately six hours with breaks) through the beautiful river view & Nepalese countryside. (On the way we can do optional white water rafting at Trisuli river US$ 60) Reach the Pokhara (Second largest city of Nepal) which is also gateway of Nepal trekking at Annapurna region. Transfer to the hotel and rest of the time explore the surrounding lakeside areas. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY03: DRIVE TO PHEDI - TREK TO POTHANA (2340m), 4hrs walk ( B,L,D)

Breakfast in the hotel, after breakfast, short drive (40 minutes) to reach at Phedi, our trek starting point. From here we’ll follow the trail to get Dhampus village for around 1 ½ hours ascends passing through terrace field and small forest. After lunch at Dhampus village we’ll continue our trek, ascent for 2 hour to reach at Pothana, where we’ll rest and relax at our local teahouse for overnight. Pothana is a small village surrounding by small forest with good view of Machhapuchre (Mt. Fishtail) In the evening, Preparation for next day Planning. Overnight @ Guest house.

DAY 04: POTHANA- LANDRUK VILLAGE 4-5hrs walk (1565m) (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we will start our journey Landruk village .Lunch will be served on the way. Landruk village offers magnificent view of Annaprna South. This place is mostly the habitant of Gurung community. overnight at Landruk village. Preparation for next day Planning.. Overnight @ Guest house.

DAY 05: LANDRUK TO GHANDRUK VILLAGE (1,990m) 4hrs walk (B,L,D)

After your tea house breakfast we’ll be walking up and down along quiet trails through the forest for about 3 hours where en-route some small teahouses offering tea o cold drink breaks for small business. We’ll reach for lunch at Landruk which also nice village settled in terrace landscapes. Continuing, the trail leads step way about 40 minutes walking down to the Modi River and crossing the bridge you can be seen bee hives on a side of cliff. Continuing our trek to Ghandruk, the trail ascends and steepest before we reach at
Ghandruk which is a largest Gurung (popular ethnic group from western region of Nepal) settlement in the area with the closest views of Annapurna south and Machhapuchre to the north and evening enjoy exploring the local village and people with traditional dressed. Preparation for next day Planning.. Overnight @ Guest house or Camping.

DAY 06: GHANDRUK -NAYAPOOL – CATCH BUS TO POKHARA (B,L,D)

Breakfast at teahouse, start our trek to Sharankot –via Naudada village. Lunch will be served on the way. After lunch, we will continue trek to sharankot. Sharankot hill is one of the most beautiful view point in the world. This Hill top is situated at elevation of 1500 meter from sea level. It will offer magnificent view of snow capped mountain in the north & city view of Pokharaincluding beautiful lake. overnight stay in Hotel.

DAY 07: POKHARA-KATHMANDU BY COACH (5-6hrs drive) (B)

After breakfast in hotel, drive to Kathmandu by coach 5-6 hours. Upon arrival in Kathmandu transfer to hotel overnight stay in Hotel. Evening free at leisure for shopping. Our Nepal Trek expedition will end here.

Day 08: Kathmandu –Fly Home (B)

After breakfast, drive to airport and fly home.
